Move a lead through its stages and win it

Change a lead's stage, and see how marking a lead Won turns it into a client.

Steps

  1. Open the lead from Trips > Leads.
  2. Use the "Stage" menu at the top right. The stages are New, Contacted, Consultation booked, Proposal sent, Won and Lost. Choosing one saves immediately.
  3. Or open the Board view of leads (the Board tab at /crm/lead) and drag the card to another column.
  4. When the client has said yes, set the stage to Won.
  5. Open Contacts > Clients to find the new client record.

What you will see

  • Setting Won creates a client with the lead's name, email, phone and name fields, and moves every trip that belonged to the lead over to the client.
  • Setting Won again does not create a second client.
  • A lead in New or Contacted moves to Consultation booked by itself when a consultation is booked and attached to it. Later stages are left alone.
  • The lead stays in the Leads list in the Won stage. Its notes, next step and tasks are not copied to the client.

Common problems

There is no Convert button.

Winning is the conversion. Set the stage to Won.

The lead says Won but I cannot find a client.

If creating the client fails, the lead still shows as Won and the app does not tell you. Check Contacts > Clients, and tell your CloudCape administrator if the client is missing.

Marking Lost did not ask why.

Leads have no lost reason. Trips do: see "Move a trip through its statuses".

"Could not update the stage."

Try again; if it keeps failing, your role may not be allowed to change stages. Ask your agency owner.
