Add a lead or a client, and find them again
Create a lead, give it a name, create a client directly, and use search on the Clients and Leads lists.
Who can do this: Creating and editing leads and clients needs CRM permission in your agency. If a page says you do not have permission, ask your agency owner.
Steps
- To add a lead, open Trips, choose the Leads tab and choose "New lead".
- Fill in the form. "Email" is the only required field. You can also set Phone, Preferred contact, Trip interest, Source channel, Notes, Kind, Next step and Waiting on.
- Choose "Create". The lead appears in your Leads list.
- To give the lead a name, open it and use the Profile panel: fill in "First name" and "Last name", then choose "Save profile". The record is renamed to match.
- Or, from New trip, choose "Create a new lead instead" and type a Name and an Email. That route names the lead straight away.
- To add a client directly, open Contacts, choose the Clients tab, then "Open the full client list" and "New client". No field is required.
- To find someone, open Contacts > Clients, or Trips > Leads, and type in "Search name, email, phone". You can also filter by Owner and by "Added from" and "Added to" dates.
What you will see
- A lead made from the form is called "Lead:" followed by its email address until you give it a name.
- If another person already has the same email or phone, you land on the new record with a "Possible duplicate" box that names the match. The new record is still saved.
- Open any lead or client to see its Trips, Consultations, Tasks, Emails, Form responses and Documents. Use "Save" on the "Next step" box to note what happens next.
Common problems
The form has no Name box.
That is how the lead form works today. Name the lead afterwards in the Profile panel, or create it from New trip.
The Stage box says "(no status)".
A lead created from the form has no stage yet. Lists treat it as New. Pick a stage to set one.
There is no search on the Grid view.
Search and filters are on Contacts > Clients and Trips > Leads, not on the grids.
"You do not have permission to view leads."
Your role is not set up to see leads. Ask your agency owner.
Where are tags?
Tags exist on trips only, not on leads or clients.
