Move a trip through its statuses
Change a trip's status by hand or with the task panel, close one as lost, and see which moves happen automatically.
Steps
- Open the trip. In the header, use the "Status" menu. The statuses are New Lead, Consultation, Proposal, Under Review, Closed Won, Closed Lost, Fully Booked, Traveling and Returned.
- Or work the "Tasks:" panel: when the required tasks are done, choose "Move to" the next status.
- To close a trip as lost, choose Closed Lost, pick a reason (Price, Timing, Booked elsewhere, No response, Not travelling now or Other), add a note if you like, and choose "Close as lost".
- From the Board, you can also use "Close as lost" on a card.
- To turn automatic moves on or off, open Settings > Board and use "Move trips automatically".
What you will see
- Entering a status creates that status's checklist tasks.
- With automatic moves on, publishing a proposal moves a New Lead or Consultation trip to Proposal. A client asking for revisions moves a New Lead, Consultation or Proposal trip to Under Review. A booked trip moves to Traveling on its start date and Returned after its end date.
- Closed Won shows a "Deposit paid" or "Deposit unpaid" badge worked out from the payment schedule.
- A client approving a proposal never moves the trip. You do that with the "Mark Closed Won" button on the banner.
Common problems
Trips are not moving to Traveling or Returned.
Date-driven moves run on a schedule your CloudCape server sets up. If they are not happening, tell your CloudCape administrator.
"Choose why this trip was lost."
A reason is required before Close as lost becomes available.
